Working...or trying to...

I am sitting in my office right now, not wanting to do work. It is bright and sunny outside my window, and though it is a bit cool outside, my mind is wandering toward thoughts of laying naked in the sun. Deadlines suck.

I can't believe it has been almost a year since I last posted to this blog. A lot has happened in that year. My roommate and best friend, who I've lived with since freshman year of college, got engaged last summer and moved in with her fiance. Instead of renewing the lease, I decided it was time to get off my butt and went and bought a house. The company I work for also grew quite a bit when we bought out another small software company and I received a pretty big promotion in the process. It has certainly been a busy several months.

So, like I said, I got a promotion. Instead of doing double duty as a developer and sales chick, I am now the director of professional services. That means that I meet with the customers when they are looking to buy our software and I find out their needs. Then I figure out what we'd have to do to make our products work for them. I now have two developers working for me that just do custom enhancements to the software--which is pretty much what I used to do before we created the professional services team.

The only problem with the new job is the deadlines. We work on customers' schedules. Customers usually want to deploy our products as soon after they sign the contract as possible, so it puts a ton of pressure on my team. My guys are both really hard workers, though, and we always come through, even if it means I work on a weekend now and then.

As for the house, I bought a modest three bedroom a-frame a few towns from work. I now have a 45 minute drive in the morning (as compared to my old 5-10 minute drive), but I'm now out in the country (which is where I like to be). My house is built on the side of a hill, with a wonderful view of a lake and the surrounding hills. It is fairly remote, too, so I can be nude outside and I don't have to worry about offending anyone (though, since I bought the place in August, I only had a couple of moths to enjoy that benefit before it got cold). The house is also on a dead-end street, so there isn't much traffic and it is very quiet.

I decided to wear a sundress for the first time since last summer today. As I said, it is still kind of cool (so I put a fleece jacket over it), but all the sun the past few days has really gotten me into the summer mood. As you know if you follow my blog, I hate underwear, so as you might guess, the dress is the only thing I have on at the moment. I'm feeling rather turned on today, too, so having nothing in between my legs is not a very good idea. There is a certain thrill that comes from doing what I am now starting to do while at work. Though I am behind my desk where no one can see, and I am the only one in the office, anyone could walk in a any time.

Well...maybe if I do this it will clear my mind and I'll get some work done afterward...
